El EMIH promueve el di\u00e1logo entre los sectores locales y, a un nivel m\u00e1s global, con marcas, consumidores organizados y organismos internacionales, con el prop\u00f3sito de contribuir a mejorar las condiciones laborales de las mujeres y de los hombres que trabajan en empresas que destinan sus productos a la exportaci\u00f3n, entre las que est\u00e1n las empresas maquiladoras.<br \/>\nEl EMIH desarrolla actividades de monitoreo y verificaci\u00f3n de las condiciones laborales, auditor\u00edas sociales, capacitaci\u00f3n en derechos, investigaciones, consultas con diferentes sectores, tanto a nivel urbano como rural.<br \/>\nEl EMIH desarrolla una forma de trabajo en la que cada uno de sus integrantes asume responsabilidades tratando de mantener la horizontalidad a la hora de desarrollar su trabajo. Para que se respete los derechos laborales en las maquilas es necesario implementar estrategias nacionales y regionales.
